New Host For The New Winter Edition Of Love Island?
Caroline Flack made it official, she will not be hosting the mega successful UK Reality Show. With a new second series due to launch in less than three weeks, ITV is scrambling to find her replacement.
Due to the uncertainty over Caroline’s ability to travel and take full part in Winter Love Island, ITV has launched it’s search for a replacement host. Whether Caroline returns for her regular duties is still currently unknown and may hinge on how the courts handle her domestic violence case. The ITV sensation Love Island has been marred with controversy and tragedy due to two suicides by contestants after they’ve finished the show and countless other charges for former contestants spanning from drug charges to failed marriages. The show has been accused of exploiting its contestants for ratings and providing little in the way towards helping them adapt to the fame and popularity that ensues.
Caroline Flack The Host:
Caroline has been the host of Love Island UK for the past five years, she has been a huge part in the ratings explosion and is instantly associated and recognized as part of the brand. Her duties have traditionally been to host the single yearly series and Winter Love Island would’ve been the first expansion of that role.
Potential Replacement Love Island Hosts:
Maura Higgins: Maura Higgins launched onto the scene as the unfiltered Irish lass that entered the most recent season of Love Island spilling memorable and cringe worthy moments alike. The unfiltered beauty won over the hearts of many and even created a pretty sizeable list of critics who found her over the top aggressiveness unbecoming. Her popularity rivals that of anyone contestant to previously appear on the show.
Maya Jama: Maya is a 25 year old beauty who is known as the former better half of UK sensation Stormzy. The two have recently split although rumors of Maya being spotted canoodling with Love Island alumni Ovie Soko has been around. Both have denied the rumors. Maya has been part of numerous shows including “The Circle.”
Laura Whitmore: Laura is a 34 years old and the love of Ian Sterling (the narrator of Love Island). Laura has been a presenter for both MTV and Channel 4 and many think she has the right ingredients to fill in those big Caroline Flack shoes. She seems to be the odds on favorite for the position.
